Some moments pass quietly, yet carry a depth that lasts a lifetime. On October 23, 2016, during a visit to Jamnagar, one such moment unfolded—simple on the surface, profound at its core—through the grace of Mahant Swami Maharaj.
As Swamishri met Vijaybhai Nanani, he smiled gently and said just two words:
“100 children.”
Nothing more. Nothing less.
Yet those two words opened a doorway into a memory nearly forgotten by time—but never forgotten by a saint.
A Blessing Spoken Decades Ago
A Young Heart’s Simple Wish
The santos standing nearby were puzzled. What did Swamishri mean? Why “100 children”?
Vijaybhai himself paused—and then the memory surfaced.
In 1985, at a gathering in Nenpur, Vijaybhai was just 16 or 17 years old. With the innocence and sincerity of youth, he had approached Mahant Swami Maharaj with a heartfelt request:
“Swami, bless me so that 100 children attend my Bal Sabha.”
It wasn’t a grand ambition. It wasn’t about recognition or numbers. It was a young devotee’s desire to serve—to bring children closer to satsang.
And Swamishri had listened.
A Memory Rooted in Love, Not the Mind
Thirty Years, Yet Unforgotten
More than three decades had passed.
Countless travels.
Thousands of people.
Unending responsibilities.
Yet Mahant Swami Maharaj remembered.
Not because the number was significant—but because the bhav behind it was.
“For a saint, time does not erase sincerity.”
This was not merely an extraordinary memory. It was a reflection of something far deeper: a heart that holds people, not moments; intentions, not events.
Seeing Every Person as Important
Nothing Is Too Small for a Saint’s Heart
To Swamishri, no interaction is insignificant. No wish is too small. No devotee is ever forgotten.
What may seem like a passing request to us becomes, in the heart of a saint, a sacred trust.
“Every moment matters, because every soul matters.”
That two-word reminder—“100 children”—was Swamishri’s way of saying:
I remember you. I remember your prayer. I remember your desire to serve.
A Lesson for All of Us
Remembering with Care
This moment gently asks us to reflect on our own lives.
- How often do we forget the words spoken to us in sincerity?
- How quickly do we move on from others’ hopes and struggles?
- How rarely do we carry people in our hearts once time passes?
Saints teach not only through discourses, but through how they remember.
“Love remembers what the mind lets go.”
Conclusion: Held in the Heart of a Saint
That day in Jamnagar, Mahant Swami Maharaj did more than recall a number. He revealed the depth of his compassion—the kind that spans decades, crosses time, and honors even the smallest offering of devotion.
A teenage boy’s wish from 1985
Remembered clearly in 2016
With just two quiet words
“100 children.”
May this inspire us to listen more deeply, care more fully, and remember one another with the same tenderness.
Because in the eyes of a saint,
no sincere wish is ever forgotten.
